Leatherworkers use hide gathered from skinning to make gear for rogues, druids, hunters and shaman. It's best to pick up skinning as your second professions so that you can gather most of the materials yourself.

First, visit the leatherworking trainer at any of your factions main cities in Eastern Kingdoms or Kalimdor. If you can't find the trainer just just ask a guard.
